Brahms' 1st

Deep in the mahogany forest
              the motes    the peat
              the sodden scarves of moss
              the bare thorns of oak
         risen from dense clay
              knifing the wind
                                 a black raven
                                 unblinks, sheds
                                                 knittings of fog.
              And black waves
                                  lap shores of night.

       *                  *                  *

I rode the back of an
   enormous swan. I held a
                    silver torch
                              taller than time

                    I poured a rich basket
                       golden grain
                              across the arms of earth.

   I pulled together
                    milkweed
                    constellations.

       *                  *                  *

It is the time to
             build the blossom fortress.
             To roar the pride.
             To glee!

       *                  *                  *

Unleash your bound
              it's dissolving
              it's resounding
                    the purple throne of
                          pure grace.
                    The fine hymn of
                          stepping free and fine.

A brass. A full rose,
     A chime. A season
                         rich and bright.

Mendelssohn Concerto in E Minor with Johathan Crow of Violin

Sweet stars of blue
           sea songs of     spring
           snapdragon chariots
                                   cresting emerald way,

           a great broad path of
                       crystalline milk
                                   orb of brilliant peace.

Race now, dance, trip, flip,
          slip to cinnamon
          vault the castle of joy!

Even ing

The year suspended,
bright as a moon of hammered silver,

Portends a new season
               thickening in bare stems
sprouting as green scissors of young crocus.

The fresh winds uncloak our stale mind
               insistently bursting open
               to free sky, stars emblazoned.

               Kite soars unbound,
                                tumbles a dizzy sparkling whirl.

Our doors are wide open; windows smashed
               as shards of glitter sweep
                                heaven’s white new teeth.

Leave behind your sack of mould!
Step out unborn into the fresh night!
               Stride above the midnight blue!
Ride the bare white horse of dawn,
                        bridled by unstained intent,
far beyond the snare of dream!

Firebird

Under the mountain king's palace
bird cages swing in dark chambers.

But in flashing forest -
                         free flashing fresh fancy:
                 grand parade of light
                         ornaments the autumn afternoon.

                         Lark on a bare pine.

Mountain king stomps forth

On a clear blue cliff,
New sun pulls red, pulls gold dawn.

                                  Spans a chasm,

                                                quickens earth.

Hrurr-City

HRurrRH-city
        All-directioned drone

sharply wanting at every street corner
must MUSTing for a dollar, a smoke, some
                sleepslosh

Some joy to drum and greyboogie on Market St.
        Some cram and urge unleashed,
                spurred on by Hermez girls
                                in their billboard spikes

Some dull and muffled goneconscious   ness
                wrapt in grimesack
                mopt hair akimbo
                slept in unease shadows
                slept for 13 peaceful moments

        'til raucous dawn clatterd in
                awoke the restless want

(sore kneed stumbled; peed in alley)

        skritchd a burning thirst for
                some sweet peace
                in calamitous hell.

PLEASE, a dollar! If not, frick'n die!

        Not dying, city revolves ever.
